Watergate

I liked how the Watergate incident was told and all the facts that were present. But, I have heard the majority of these facts from time to time. Nixon was a man that was foolish enough to record himself throughout the White House; I don't know about anybody else, but it seems to like this man was trying to get himself caught. Here is this man who is in a high position and he messes things up by doing something that silly. Why do some people in charge abuse his/her power(s)? Is it that he/she can not believe that he/she has that much power and do not know what to do with it? What I do not get is how he won Americans over with the speech about his dog. Overall the section was very entertaining and interesting; I still can not believe he had ordered for this ordeal to take place. I did not like how Nixon took advantage of his situation knowing he is president. This is what makes me scared of politics at times. Sometimes, I wonder if the we Americans really take into consider who we put in leadership position. This is an event that has a lesson in it for me; it tells me to be careful with who I vote or stand by when it comes to people in running for leadership in different parts of government. But sometimes we do not see how a person really is until there is an oppurtunity for his/her true colors to appear.
